BOQUIST Constance Dawn (Waterman) of Wellesley, MA died on September12, 2013.
Ms. Boquist grew up in Connecticut and attended Mount St. Joseph’s Academy in West Hartford. She graduated from Boston University and earned her Master’s in Education from Antioch College. Primarily interested and engaged in administrative aspects of education, she initially worked for Newton College of the Sacred Heart as Assistant to the Academic Dean of Students. Thereafter, she spent twenty years managing educational conferences for senior executives under the aegis of Harvard, MIT, Tufts, and other consortium members. Her ability to manage conference logistics, motivate staff, and make attendees feel welcome was legendary.
She is remembered for her sense of humor and love of words, good food, the ocean, and the North Shore. Her sublime calligraphy graced wedding invitations and certificates across several continents.
She is survived by her loving son Gregory, his wife Susan, her former husband Wallace, her dear aunt Florence Dolinsky, cousins Nancy and Gary Dolinsky and her dear friend Lyra Hankins who was like a daughter to her.
She had a lifelong love of animals, especially cats. Memorial donations may be made to the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington, NY or to S.P.I.N. (Stray Pets in Need) of Wellesley, MA.
No funeral will be held, but a memorial reception is planned at the Wellesley College Club on Saturday, September 28th from 1:00 – 4:00 pm. Her keen wit and whimsical love of life will be missed by many whose lives she touched, both personally and professionally. Constance passed away peacefully, surrounded by those she loved and who in turn, loved her.
