LOWELL, MA: Albert J. Hauswirth, Jr. age 77, a resident of Centralville area of Lowell for the past 4 years, died Friday, September 10, 2004 at the D’Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell.
He was the husband of Diane (Kilgore) Hauswirth who died June 30, 2000.
Born in Boston on March 21, 1927, he was the son of the late Albert J. and Elizabeth (Cawley) Hauswirth. Mr. Hauswirth was raised and educated in Watertown.
On April 21, 1944, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served during World War II aboard the U.S.S. Fall River. Mr. Hauswirth was awarded several decorations including the Asiatic Pacific Area Medal, the American Area Medal, the Philipine Liberation Medal with 1 Star and the World War II Victory Medal.
Prior to his retirement, he worked for many years as a service manager at Nashua Auto. Mr. Hauswirth previously worked for the Nassar Ford Automobile Dealership.
He previously resided in Tewksbury, MA for over 40 years and Gilmanton, NH for 10 years.
Mr. Hauswirth was a communicant of St. Michaels Church of Lowell.
He was an avid fisherman and outdoorsman. In addition, he enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, visiting Foxwoods Resort and Casino and traveling with his late wife to view the fall foliage.
He is survived by 1 daughter; Diane E. McGuinness of Tewksbury; 5 sons; A.D. Rus Hauswirth and his wife Jocelyn (Forsyth) of Avon, CT, Robert W. Hauswirth and his wife Donna (Wilson) of Lowell, Ronald E. Hauswirth of Tewksbury, Gary J. Hauswirth and his wife Debra (Gorman) of Dracut and Kevin D. Hauswirth and his wife Carol (Gibbons) of Methuen; 2 sisters; Lorraine Coyle of Seekonk and Elizabeth Ogar and her husband Walter of Rockland; 18 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hauswirth was the brother of the late Edward Hauswirth.

Funeral Mass Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Michaels Church, 6th St., Lowell. Interment at 1:45 p.m. at the V.A. National Cemetery, Bourne, MA.
