Alameda, CA: Robert W. Chen, formerly of Weston passed away on August 24, 2013. He was born in China in 1919. He came to America in 1939 to attend Carlton College. He received an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1948, settled in Weston, Massachusetts and had a long career in banking and finance.
Robert loved baseball, the Red Sox and the Oakland A’s, travel, bridge, ballroom dancing, music and social activities. He taught Chinese language courses and college accounting and bookkeeping. He was active in the Chinese Church in Brookline. He enjoyed ice skating, swimming, tennis and bicycle riding with his children. He will be remembered as an intelligent, respectful, fun-loving family man, a good friend, and a man of faith and integrity.
He was the beloved father of May Chen of NY, Wilma Chan of CA and Michael Chen of PA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister. He was the loving husband of the late Delia Li who died in 2007.
Services will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (off Rte 30), Wayland followed by a private family interment in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
