Whitman - Marion L. (Sinnott) Bois, died Sept. 10, 2013, 79 years old, born in Brockton, MA, third of four children of John James Sinnott and Ida Ermina (Vennor) Sinnott. Wife of the late Donald S. Bois. Marion was an avid knitter and loved to knit for her family, friends, and friends of friends as well as the Altrusa group, making many, many baby sweater sets, mittens, hats, scarfs and lap blankets and afghans. She enjoyed watching Bruins games and attending them with family members, and enjoyed traveling with her family and visiting family members and friends in Florida, California and Canada. Marion learned woodworking and upholstery, and studied accounting for a time. Marion also devoted a lot of her time as a care-giver for her husband, siblings, other relatives and friends, as well as worked strongly as an advocate for the very young by helping to pass the Baby Safe Haven law in Massachusetts. Marion had also volunteered at the Brockton Hospital.
She most of all enjoyed her five grandchildren; Shawn, Casi, Tory, Nicholas and Gabriella. She worked for Brockton Gas Company after graduating from Brockton High School, was a cake decorator for Fernandes Supermarket, and worked at Marranbar, Foxboro Express and Sullivan Brothers, all trucking companies, as an office specialist. Marion worked for the Whitman Public Schools as a duty aide and library aide for ten years, mostly at the Forest St (Conley) School, but also at the Holt and Dyer Schools.
Marion is survived by her four children; Donna E. Bergeron and her husband James Jr., of Bridgewater, Karen M. Santilli and her husband Peter, of East Bridgewater, Steven D. Bois of Whitman, and Pamela J. Dawson and her husband William, of Berkley, and her sister-in-laws Elizabeth (Betty) Sinnott, Jeanne Andrade, Maria Bois, Mary Bois, and Carol Bois, all of Bridgewater, Barbara Bois and Claire Bois of San Diego, California, plus her brother-in-laws Phillip (Buzzy) Bois of Bridgewater and Lester (Dickie) Bois of San Diego, California. She was pre-deceased by her husband and her three siblings; John Frederick Sinnott, William Nicholas Sinnott, and Patricia Joan Meiggs. Marion is also survived by her five loving grandchildren; Shawn Steven Bergeron of Bridgewater, Casi Lyn Santilli of East Bridgewater, Tory Leigh Santilli and her friend Jon Tavares of East Bridgewater, Nicholas James Bergeron of Bridgewater, and Gabriella Rose Santilli of East Bridgewater, as well as many, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces.
Her funeral service will be held Saturday September 14 at 11 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held Friday September 13 from 4-8 PM.
