Obituary

WEBSTER – Constance J. “Connie” (Rheaume) Chauvin, 84, formerly of Hillside Ave., died Monday, September 9, 2013 in Lanessa Extended Care Facility after an illness. Her husband of 60 years, George A. Chauvin, Jr. died in 2008.
She leaves five daughters, Paula M. Chauvin of Cocoa, FL, Donna M. McDonald of Webster, Susan A. Desaulnier and her husband Richard of Dudley, Ann C. Bonnette and her boyfriend Ted Sharpe of Harrisburg, PA, and Jeanne L. Katrenak and her husband Joe of Dudley; a son, Thomas J. Chauvin and his girlfriend Faith McClure of Somerville; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Barrrett, Leslie Hamm, David Desaulnier, Carolyn Cole, Jeanie Desaulnier, James Bonnette, and Kelly McDonald; four great-grandchildren, Rory and Fiona Barrett, Ryan Hamm II and Chloe Cole; a daughter-in-law, Sara Chauvin of Southbridge; a brother-in-law, Lionel “Smitty” Nadeau of Webster; a former son-in-law, Jim Bonnette; nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by a son, Richard G. Chauvin, in 2002, by her sister, Jacqueline Nadeau in 2006 and by her son-in-law, Peter D. Moynihan in 1979.
She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Armand & Yvonne (Bernier) Rheaume and moved to Webster in 1935. She graduated from Bartlett High School in 1947.
Mrs. Chauvin was the secretary for 40 years at her husband’s business Chauvin Painting Contractors, Inc. and at the retail business Chauvin Paint & Wallpaper.
She was a member and daily communicant of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. She was an adorer and coordinator of adorers at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. She volunteered at Saint Anne’s School, she belonged to the Ladies of Saint Anne, the Hubbard Regional Hospital Guild and was a coordinator of volunteers for the HRH Gift Shop.
Mrs. Chauvin was loved by everyone who knew her and accepted everyone unconditionally. She always thought of other people before herself.
The funeral will be held Thursday, September 12, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, September 11, in the funeral home. Memorial donations in her name may be made to Saint Anne’s Elementary School Safety Fund, 12 Day Street, PO Box 818, Webster, MA 01570-0818.
