Ramon M. Brooks, Jr., 57, of New Bedford died Friday September 6, 2013 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Donna L. (Pina) Brooks.
Born in Newport, Rhode Island, the son of the late Ramon M. and Mildred A. (Sears) Brooks, he lived in New Bedford for many years.
Mr. Brooks was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford at the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Nakia Lee Stephens and Kimyata Joyele Richardson, both of New Bedford; a sister, Charlotte Brooks of Fall River; three grandchildren, Tyanna, Chyna, and Dakota; three step-grandchildren, Jonathan, Kyle, and Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 4 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 2-4 PM prior to the service.
