Sidney A. Stone, Jr., age 82 of Norton, formerly of Easton, passed away on Friday, August 30, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the husband of Lillian V. (Fuller) Stone to whom he was wed on February 14, 1999.
Born in Brockton, MA on April 21, 1931 he was a son of the late Sidney, Sr. and Winifred (Richards) Stone. He grew up and was educated in Abington.. He was a graduate of Abington High School and served in the U.S. Navy.
A resident of Norton for the past 14 years, Mr. Stone was a retired security officer having worked for Gray’s Security Service in South Attleboro for 10 years. While employed at Gray’s, he worked the overnight shift while the Ocella Fast Track was being constructed between Boston and Providence.
Sidney was a member of the Faith Alliance Church in Attleboro and a former member of the former Olivet Memorial Church in Brockton. He enjoyed volunteering in the bus ministry in Brockton and serving coffee and donuts after Sunday services.
He liked bird watching and when younger was an avid fisherman. Sidney will always be remembered by all for his charitable nature.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Gregory A. Stone and his wife Carolyn of Brockton, Diane E. Stone of Bridgewater, Karen F. Pazzali and her husband Daniel of Arizona and James A. Stone and his wife Nicole of Plymouth. He was the brother of John Stone of Rockland, Jane Erikson of Middleboro and the late Genevieve Victor and Lewis Stone. He was the grandfather of Sarah Sanz and her husband Jason, Jeanette Stone, Timothy Stone and his wife Carrie and Jonathon Stone. He was the great grandfather of Elias Sanz and is also survived by his brother in law Ed Victor of California and several nieces and nephews. He was the former husband of the late Marjorie (Sears) Raymond.
Memorial services, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Friday, September 13th at 10:00 A.M. in the Faith Alliance Church, 833 Pleasant St. (Route 123) Attleboro.
