Obituary

FRAMINGHAM: William “Earl” Braswell, 85, formerly of Natick, died peacefully in the care and comfort of his family on Thursday, September 5, 2013 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Boston on August 16, 1928 the son of the late William A. Braswell and Wilhelmina (Smith) Braswell.
Earl is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 55 years, Patricia J. (Keefe) Braswell of Framingham formerly of Natick. Beloved father of Michael K. Johnson and his wife Sharon L. Johnson of Frederick, MD and Deborah E. Shooshanian and her husband Edward A. Shooshanian of Natick. He was the father of the late David P. Johnson formerly of Riverton, WY who died in 1987. Cherished grandfather of Megan Shooshanian of Waltham; Julie Shooshanian of Natick, Daniel Shooshanian of Natick; Kimberly Johnson of Frederick, MD and Katelyn Johnson of Frederick, MD. Also survived by his nephew Lawrence Keefe and his wife Edna Keefe of Arlington and several cousins.
Earl was a graduate of Newton High School and received his degree in Accounting from Bentley College in Waltham. He has been a longtime resident of Natick and resided in Framingham for several years. Earl served his country proudly during World War II with the United States Air Force. He began his long and distinguished career as an accountant with West Sand & Gravel of Walpole, was associated for 20 years with Cullen, Murphy and Connolly of Boston and retired from Atlantic Management Corp. of Framingham under the direction and founder Richard J. Trifiro.
Earl and his wife Patricia loved to travel to Ireland and did so on 15 various occasions over the past years. He enjoyed golfing and was and avid Boston sports fan supporting all the teams. He especially enjoyed trips to Foxwoods and did so most recently with his son Mike. For many years he was affiliated with the VFW Alward Post #6260 of Wayland and maintained their finances. He was a loving and devoted husband and father and thoroughly enjoyed being with his grandchildren. He was a good friend to all who knew him and will be greatly missed by his family.
Visitations will he held on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Family and friends are invited to go directly to his Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at 10:00 am at the Parish of the Good Shepherd at St. Zepherins Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27), Wayland
Interment at Holyhood Cemetery in Brookline will be private for his family.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that memorial gifts in Earl’s memory may be sent toe the Special Olympics, 1133 19th St NW, Washington, DC 20036 or the Jimmy Fund, Dana Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place, 6th floor, Brookline, MA 02445.
