EAST BROOKFIELD: Alma C. (Petruzzi) Sleeper, 89, of 101 Main Street, died Thursday, Sept. 5 in Christopher House, Worcester.
Her husband, Alden E. Sleeper died in 1974. She leaves a son Francis J. Sleeper and his wife JoAnn of Sturbridge, a daughter Margaret A. Hall of Leicester, two brothers Louis A. Petruzzi and his wife Claire and John J. Petruzzi and his wife June all of East Brookfield, five grandchildren; Jason Hall and his wife Chris of Charlton, April Davis of Barre, Justin Sleeper and his wife Marnie of Niantic, Ct., Jessica Holler and her husband Theron of Ware and Maureen Vicere and her husband Vincent of Mantua, N.J., and five great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by brothers Ralph and Francis Petruzzi and sisters Florence Allen, Theresa Edens, Mary Petruzzi and Rose Burgos.
Alma was the cafeteria manager at the E.Brookfield Memorial School where she worked for over 20 years, retiring in 1986. In her early years, and again later in life she worked at Petruzzi Farms in E.Brookfield. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church and its’ Ladies Guild and the Lashaway Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
Born in E.Brookfield, she was the daughter of Louis and Margaret (Ficociello) Petruzzi.
Alma’s funeral will be held on Monday, Sept. 9 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Ter., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, No.Brookfield Rd., E.Brookfield. Burial will follow in Mary,Queen of the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, Sept. 8 from 3 to 6pm.in the funeral home.
