Obituary

Helen D. (Shea) Parker 93, of Natick died Tuesday September 3, 2013 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

She was the beloved wife of Walter G. Parker with whom she shared 68 years of marriage.

Born in Natick and a lifelong resident she was the daughter of the late John J. and Nora (Conneely) Shea.

Mrs. Parker attended the Natick School System and was a graduate of Natick High School class of 1938.

Helen was an accomplished ballroom dancer which she enjoyed with her husband Walter for over 70 years starting with a dance in 1938 at the Clarks Block Hall in Natick, to many of the area famous ballrooms such the Totem Pole Ballroom, Mosley’s on the Charles, and later at the Natick Senior Center.

She played the organ, was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan, made a memorable family trip to Ireland, and loved to travel to Marco Island FL in the winter months. 

In addition to her husband she is survived by one son James W. Parker and his wife Catherine of Bow N.H. ,four grandchildren, Nicole Lattuca of Montreal   , John Lattuca of Maynard, Kristin Parker and Elissa Parker both of Bow N.H.,  her son in law Russell Lattuca of Natick, and many nieces and nephews.

She was the mother of the late Janice H. Lattuca who died in 2008, and Michael J. Parker who died in 1982.

She was the sister of the late Natick Police Chief Joseph Shea, Francis Shea, Leo Shea, Robert Shea, James Shea, Thomas Shea, Rita Webster, Elsie Shea, Irene Shea, and Ester Hart.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral on Saturday September 7, at 9:00 A.M. from the John Everett and Sons Funeral Home 4 Park Street, at Natick Common, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St Patricks’ Church at 10:00 A.M.

Visiting hours at the funeral home , are Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M.

Interment St Patrick Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the Paralyzed Veterans of America 801 18th Street NW Washington D.C. 20006.
