PEABODY - Carol A. Soboczinski, of Saugus, formerly of Peabody, died Sunday evening, September 1, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following a long illness.
Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Edwin B and Irene (Tremblay) Soboczinski, Raised and educated in Peabody, Carol was a graduate of the St. Joseph Grammar School and the St. John the Baptist High School. She then graduated from the Mansfield Beauty Academy in Boston. She has been a resident of Saugus for over 30 years.
Carol worked as a hair stylist for many years, during which she owned and operated London Hair Design in Swampscott and later C & B Hair Company on Lynn St. in S. Peabody.
Carol was a loving sister. She was an avid golfer and enjoyed traveling, especially to Hawaii and Europe.
She is survived by three sisters, Dorothy Mavroules, wife of the late Michael Mavroules, of Danvers, Helen and her husband Barry Anasoulis of Summerfield, FL, Barbara and her husband Nick Zakas of Essex, 2 nieces, Kim Anasoulis, Karla (Zakas) and her husband Todd Hanna, 1 nephew, Christopher and his wife Melanie Anasoulis, 2 great nephews, C.J. Anasoulis, Gavin Hanna, 1 great niece, Casey Anasoulis and many cousins.
Her funeral service will be held Friday, September 6, 2013 at 10 am from the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem, followed by funeral Mass at 11 am at the St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody. Visiting hours are Thursday, 4 to 8 pm. Burial is in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
