WEBSTER – Sophie (Zacek) Rascoe, 88, of 47 North Main St., died Tuesday, Sept. 7, in Webster Manor.
She leaves her husband of 36 years, Alfred J. “Freddy” Rascoe; 2 sisters, Mary Kolakowski of Worcester and Lottie Burke of Webster; a grandson, John Nowosadko; 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Stella O. Nowosadko in 2002 and by her sister, Helen Chartier.
She was born in Dudley, a daughter of Stanislaus and Stephania (Stawiecki) Zacek.
Mrs. Rascoe worked as a distributor of yarn at Stevens Linen Associates in Dudley for 40 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of St. Joseph Basilica and its Holy Rosary Sodality. She was active at the Webster Senior Center. She was also an original member of the Silver Dippers. She enjoyed bingo.
The funeral will be held Friday, Sept. 10, from Scanlon Funeral Service, East Main St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace.
