Edith Harper Smith, age 85, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Coffee Regional Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Smith was born on December 6, 1927, in Douglas, GA to the late Wiley Harper and Sally Spivey Harper.
Survivors include: her two daughters, Alecia (Tommy) Purvis of Douglas, GA and Pamela Teston of Fitzgerald, GA, two sons, Kenneth (Janice) Smith of Douglas, GA and Stanley (Mary Frances) Smith of Douglas, GA, one brother, Odis Harper of Broxton, GA, one sister, Evelyn Purvis of Douglas, GA, nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2013 from 6-9 pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 4:00 p.m. at St. Illa Baptist Church with Rev. Walter James officiating and Kathryn Wills giving the eulogy. Interment will follow at New Hope Church Cemetery.
