CHICOPEE – Lillian D. (Cartier) Murray, 93, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She passed into Eternal Life at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Home surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family and her wonderful caregivers. She was born at home on Grattan Street in the Aldenville section of Chicopee on February 12, 1920, a beloved daughter of the late Homer and Roseanna (Henault) Cartier. She was raised in Chicopee and Holyoke and later lived in Northampton before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1976. She was employed for many years in the shipping and receiving department at the former Worthington Pump Company, which later became the Atlas Copco Company, in Holyoke and retired in 1984. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Robert W. Murray; her loving son, Ronald L. Glover who was Called Home on January 2, 2006; and her dear sisters, Sister Mary Theresa Cartier and Estelle Tisdell and her husband, Noe Tisdell. She leaves her cherished nephew, Robert H. Tisdell and his wife, Mary Ellen, of Chicopee; and her cherished niece, Gloria A. Delude and her husband, Paul, of Chicopee. Her funeral will be held on Saturday morning, August 31, 2013 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Saint Anne Church, 30 College Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her burial will follow the Mass at Sainte Rose Cemetery, 49 Olsen Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday morning, August 31, 2013 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. before the Mass. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home.
