SHERBORN: Lee E. Munson died peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013 surrounded by his family at Emerson Hospital on Concord.
He was the son of the late Dr. Todd Oulette Munson and Dorothy Lee (Evans) Munson.
Lee is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Callery of Sherborn and Chelsea, VT. Father of Wade H. Munson and his wife Colleen L. Munson of Worcester and Brett W. Munson of Marlborough. Grandfather of Charlotte Clark of Louisville, KY and Liam, Seamus and Seth Munson all of Worcester. Brother of Jan E. Gardiner of Wellesley; Blake E. Munson and his wife Patricia Munson of Weston and Scott E. Munson, VMD and his wife Heidi A. McMorrow of West Barnstable. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Lee spent his earlier years in Brookline and was a graduate of Brookline High School with the Class of 1958. He attended the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and Northeastern University. He served his country proudly with the United States Navy. He began his career as a plumber with John Matheson Plumbing of Framingham. From 1968 until 2004, he was the co-owner with his brother Blake of Munson Plumbing and Heating of Weston. Lee was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed time spent at the residence in Chelsea, VT and always had a project to do. He also resided in Weston for many years before moving to Sherborn nine years ago. Lee will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Private family graveside services will be held at the Munson family lot in Linwood Cemetery in Weston.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Lee’s life on Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Weston Community Center, 20 Alphabet Road, Weston, MA 02493.
