Barbara I. (Javery Cloutier) Mitchell, 71, of Worcester, passed away peacefully Monday, August 26th, surrounded by her loving family, in her home, after an illness. She leaves her devoted friend and husband, Michael G. Mitchell; six children, James H. Guertin of Eastport, ME, John J. Guertin and his wife, Jacqueline of Leicester, Deborah V. Odgren and her husband, Robert of Oxford, Susan M. Hart of Eastport, ME, Thomas M. Mitchell and his wife, Rose of Shrewsbury, Linda J. Veaudry of Lebanon, PA; her nine adoring grandchildren, Jill, Nicole, Jennifer, Christopher, Andrew, Michael, Justin, Brianna and Rebecca; her five great grandchildren, Brayden, Mikayla, Hailey, Madison and Nova and nephew, Michael. She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Javery, who died at the age of 9 months and a brother, Eugene J. Cloutier, III who died in 1980.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of Eugene J. Cloutier, Jr. and Rita I. (Girouard) Cloutier. Mrs. Mitchell was a hairdresser for many years, working at Rob Roy’s and Pauline Roache’s Hair Salon before retiring. Barbara was a member of St. George Orthodox Cathedral and its choir. She loved cooking, painting, crafting and scrapping. Mostly she loved spending time with her husband and family.
Calling hours are Wednesday, August 28th from 5:00 until 7:00 PM in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Trisagion Service at 7:00 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
