Catherine C. Manzo, age 85, a resident of the Epoch Assisted Living in Norton, formerly of Yonkers, New York passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro.
Born in Yonkers, NY on October 30, 1927 she was a loving and devoted daughter of the late Pasquale and Theresa Manzo.
She grew up in Yonkers and was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School. Kay had formerly worked as a sign company bookkeeper and served as a devout caregiver to her late mother Theresa.
Kay had made her home in Norton since February and was a former lifelong resident of Yonkers. While living in Yonkers she was a lifelong parishioner of the Sacred Heart Church. Kay loved to walk and when younger was an avid tennis player.
In the short period of time she spent in MA she received great love from those around her and reciprocated with her strength and gratitude.
She is survived by her loving nieces, Cynthia J. Lichtstein and her husband Rob of Pottstown, PA and Deborah M. Gorhan and her husband Michael of Mansfield. She is also survived by her cherished grand nephews, Henry V. Gorhan and Casey C. Gorhan both of Mansfield as well as her sister in law Nathalie Kotter of Whiting, NJ and several cousins. She was the dear sister of the late Rose Manzo and Vincent J. Manzo.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, August 29th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, August 28th from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St, Mansfield.
