Westport – Jeanne E. (Guilmette) Forest, 78, of Westport died Tuesday, September 7, 2004 at home. She was the wife of Joseph “Roger” Forest for 56 years.
She was born in Dartmouth, daughter of the late Alfred and Leotine (LePage) Guilmette, and had resided there until moving to Westport in 1955. She was a devoted communicant of St. George Church, Westport, where she was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Woman’s Guild, as well as the first recipient of the Marion Medal at St. George Church. As a Eucharistic Minister she often brought communion to the sick.
Mrs. Forest donated time as a hospice volunteer for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
Including her husband she is survived by a son: Dennis J. Forest of Westport; 3 daughters: Diane M. Forest of Westport, Patrice A. Forest of Westport and Suzanne L. Forest Pena of Mashpee; 2 brothers: Alfred Guilmette of Westport and Wilfred Guilmette of Dartmouth; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Germaine Guilmette and Arthur Guilmette.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be from the Potter Funeral Home, 81 Reed Road, Westport, Friday at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. George Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Thursday 2 – 4 & 7 – 9 P.M.
Interment will be in Beech Grove Cemetery, Westport.
