Obituary

Thelma A. (Giguere) Bishop, 84, of New Bedford died Monday Septemebr 6, 2004 at Sippican Healthcare Center in Marion after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Henry J. Bishop.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Oliver and Reseda (Fontaine) Giguere, she had lived in New Bedford for most of her life.

She was a communicant of St. Lawrence Church.

Mrs. Bishop was formerly employed by the City of New Bedford as a switchboard operator until her retirement.

She enjoyed frequenting Dillon's Restaurant for breakfast and lunch.

Survivors include a son, William O. Bishop of Middleboro; two daughters, Louise A. Bishop and Laura A. Chevalier, both of New Bedford; a sister Cecile Plaud of New Bedford; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was the sister of the late Laurent Giguere and Corinne Cook.

Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New BedfordThursday September 9, 2004 at 8 AM.Funeral Mass at St. Lawrence Church at 9 AM.Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday September 8, 2004 from 3-7 PM. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Community Nurse & Hospice Care, P.O.
