MACK Norman E. of West Roxbury, August 14, 2013. He was the son of the late Gertrude (Jackson) and William Mack of Somerville. He is survived by his loving wife Miriam (Temkin) Mack and his 2 children Allison Mack and her husband Timothy Pioli of Woburn along with their son Andrew Pioli of Worcester and his son Douglas Mack of New Castle, Maine. Norman leaves behind 2 sisters, Patricia Carbone of Medford and Ruth McGlinchey of Tewksbury. He is predeceased by his step-daughter Tracey Miller of Hyde Park and his brother William Mack of New London, NH. and sisters Theresa Morrissey of Dorchester and Caroline Forman of Fredericton, Canada. Norman also leaves behind many nieces and nephews and will be missed by all. Norman graduated from Somerville High School and was a star football player and a golden gloves boxer. He was nominated to the All Scholastic Boston Herald Hall of Fame. Norman also served his country honorably as a U.S. Marine Drill Sergeant during the Korean War. He worked for Acme Body and Paint as a manager for 40 years and later established his own appraisal company. He loved his family deeply. Both he and Miriam loved spending time on their yard. He and his son Douglas used to go deep sea fishing which was an enjoyment for both of them. He was ever faithful to the Boston sports teams. He also traveled with his daughter, step-daughter and wife. A memorial service will be held at Forsyth Chapel, Forest Hills Cemetery, Jamaica Plain, MA. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11:00am. We would like to thank all of the doctors and nurses who cared for Norman while he was at Newton-Wellesley Hospital. They are quite a caring group of people.
