METHUEN – Ruth M. “Clark” Bowlby, 91 passed away on Wednesday August 7, 2013 at the Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Born in Somerville, MA, she was the daughter of Stedman and Helen Frances (Barber) Clark and graduated from Fisher College in Boston, MA.
Ruth was a professional soloist and choir director at the First Baptist Church in Arlington, MA and the First Methodist Church in Hudson, FL. After raising her family in Arlington, MA and spending many summers with family and friends in Onset, she and Robert lived in Salem, NH and spent many happy years in retirement in homes in Hudson, FL and Moultonboro, NH. Ruth spent the last years at Haverhill Crossings Assisted Living where they loved her dearly. She was professional singer, storyteller and author. Ruth loved to cook and entertain, always had a positive outlook and was a great listener. She loved her family, God and country.
The widow of C. Robert Bowlby, she is survived by her two daughters and one son, Carol Caldwell of Eagle, Idaho, Suzanne Young of Manchester, NH and Roger Bowlby of Bluffton, SC.
8 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of life will be held on Sunday August 18, 2013 at 1:00p.m. at the Community of Christ Church camp grounds in the Tabernacle 339 Onset Ave. Onset, MA 02558.
