Margaret "Marge" (Pierce) Santos, 70, of Dartmouth, died Saturday September 4, 2004 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. She was the wife of the late Louis Santos.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Kelly) Pierce, she lived in New Bedford for many years before moving to Dartmouth five years ago.
Mrs. Santos was formerly employed as a bus aide for Tremblay Bus Company until her retirement. She had also worked as a stitcher in various manufacturing companies.
She attended Brandon Woods Adult Day Care and resided at Brandon Woods Nursing Home for the past year.
Survivors include a son, Lawrence M. Gonsalves of Dartmouth; four daughters, Kathy Hood of Florida, Lori Heuberg of Colorado, Marilyn Gonsalves and Colleen Gonsalves, both of New Bedford; her close friend, whom she considered as her daughter, Kellie Martin and her husband Patrick Hunt, of New Bedford; three sisters, Gert Adamcheck and her husband Pete, of Bricktown, NJ, Anna Marie Doyle and her husband John of Nutley, NJ, and Pat Mack and her husband Jim, of Toms River, NJ; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday evening September 6, 2004 at 8 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Visiting hours will be on Monday evening from 6-8 PM prior to the funeral service. Burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery will be private.
