Theresa M. Callahan a life-long Medford resident died peacefully on August 7th at the Glenridge Nursing Center. She was 94. The beloved daughter of the late Patrick and Mary (McDonnell) Callahan, she was a dear sister to Joseph D. Callahan, Sr. and his Wife Patricia (Jolin) of Groveland, the late Margaret Callahan, Helena Montgomery and Esther Miller. Theresa also leaves many devoted nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews.
Through a scholarship, Theresa attended the New England Conservatory of Music for voice. She graduated from Boston State College with a BS in Elementary Education. She was a long-time substitute teacher in Medford Schools as well as a CCD teacher at St. Raphael Parish and St Joseph Parish where she served as a vocalist and a member of the Third Order of Mary.
Relatives and friends may visit at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Saturday, August 10th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High Street, Medford, at 10:30 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
