Fall River…Adeline P. Menard, 84 of Fall River passed away August 7, 2013 at Sarah S. Brayton Nursing Home.
She was the wife of the late Gerard H. Menard.
Born in Fall River, she was a daughter of the late Joseph T. and Florence (Moniz) Moniz and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Mrs. Menard was a member of St. Bernadette Parish, a 1947 graduate of BMC Durfee High School, Fall River and worked in retail at various stores throughout Fall River before her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed reading, walking, watching TV, going out to eat and was an avid Boston Red Sox Fan.
Survivors include her daughter: Michele Haarala and her husband Mike of Somerset, 2 sons: Stephen M. Menard and his wife Nancy of Tiverton, and Christopher Menard and his wife Sandra of Fall River, 1 brother: Joseph P. Moniz and his wife Pauline of Fall River, 1 granddaughter: Erica Martinez of Tacoma WA, 2 grandsons: Kevin Menard and Andrew Menard, both of Fall River, 2 great granddaughters: Sydnie and Alexandra Martinez, both of Tacoma WA, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was sister of the late Mary C. Moniz and Hilda Arruda and aunt of the late Joseph Arruda.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Saturday, August 10, 2013 at 8 AM at SOUTH COAST FUNERAL HOME, 1555 Pleasant St. Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 AM at St. Bernadette Parish, 529 Eastern Ave., Fall River. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be Friday from 6 – 8 PM.
