Obituary

Mrs. Lea A. (Richardson) Merrion, of Raynham, died Wednesday, August 7 at her residence following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James C. Merrion, Sr. She was born 79 years ago in Brockton, the daughter of the late Daniel and Lillian (Richard) Richardson. She was educated in Brockton and had been a Raynham resident for the past 18 years. Prior to her retirement, Lea had been employed in a clerical capacity for Mass. Bank and Trust, Brockton, for many years. Following her retirement, she worked at the Mail Room in Raynham for several years, and was also employed for a time at BJ’s Wholesale Club in Taunton. She was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, the Red Hats, and the Brockton High School Reunion Committee. She enjoyed reading, travelling, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends. She was a communicant of St. Ann’s Church in Raynham.
She leaves: 2 sons: James and Marc Merrion both of Taunton; 2 daughters: Diana Epstein and her husband, Sheldon of Brockton, and Cheryl Beauvais and her husband, Raymond of Taunton; 6 grandchildren: Michael Epstein, Matthew Epstein, Michelle Faria, Melissa Epstein, Christopher Merrion and Nicholas Merrion; 1 great granddaughter: Isabel Epstein, and several nieces and nephews. Lea was also the grandmother of the late Raymond R. Beauvais, the sister of the late Daniel and Robert Richardson, and the sister-in-law of the late Constance Richardson.
Funeral services will be held from The Riendeau-Mulvey Funeral Home, 467 Bay Street, Taunton, on Saturday, August 10 at 8:30 A.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow in St. Ann’s Church, Raynham, at 9:30 A.M. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours will be held on Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M.
