Mark J. Cannata, 44

Mark J. Cannata, age 44, of Attleboro, formerly of Norton passed away unexpectedly at home, on Saturday, August 3, 2013.
Born in Boston, MA on August 3, 1969, he was a son of Joseph Cannata of Boston and the late Loretta (Reilly) Giroir. He grew up and was educated in Norton.
A resident of Attleboro for the past 18 years, Mark was an avid bicyclist and a true New England Patriots fan. He enjoyed all the wonderful times spent with family and friends, and when younger, along with his family, had attended St. Mary’s Church in Norton.
In addition to his father he is survived by his devoted sisters and brothers, Diane LaVerde and her husband Tony of Louisiana, Barbara Savini and her husband Bill of North Easton, Robert Giroir and his wife Ida of South Carolina, Michael Giroir and his wife Linda of Taunton, and the late Stephen Giroir. He is also survived by many dear aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, August 19th at 10:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Power St., Norton. Burial will follow in the Norton Common Cemetery, Norton.
A reception will follow the services and will be held in the Parish Center at St. Mary’s Church in Norton.
Visiting hours are omitted and in lieu of flowers, Mark’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. Norton.
