DARTMOUTH -- Hazid C. Conkling, 90, of South Dartmouth died at home Tuesday, August 31, 2004, after a long illness. He was the widower of Aileen (Walker) Conkling.
Born in Nutley, N.J., he was the son of the late Hazid and Mary (Wicks) Conkling. He lived in this area for many years.
Mr. Conkling was a sales manager at New Bedford Cordage Co., Continental Elastic Co. and Lambeth Corp., from which he retired. He was well known for making fine furniture.
Survivors include two daughters, Judith Tripp of Palermo, Maine, and Joan C. Knowles of Bossier City, La.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and his companion, Valerie Vieira.
Funeral and burial arrangements are private.
