FRAMINGHAM: Raymond A. MacInnis, 86, died on Friday, August 2, 2013 at the Metrowest Medical Center in Framingham in the peace and comfort of his loved ones.
He leaves his devoted wife of 66 years, Shirley (Giles) MacInnis of Framingham formerly of Lincoln and their five children, Judy MacInnis DesRosiers and her husband Paul of Gastonia, NC; James J. MacInnis and his wife Jeanne of Stone Mountain, GA; Scott R. MacInnis of Framingham; Eileen MacInnis Murphy of Austin, TX and Elizabeth “Liza” MacInnis Knighton of Tacoma, WA. Also survived by four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He is also survived by his beloved sisters, Edith Puleo and her husband Frank of Maynard; Dorothy Kimball and her husband Don of Lexington; his cherished brothers Fred MacInnis and his wife Gerd of Mount Airy, MD; Robert MacInnis and his wife Jean of Billerica and Daniel MacInnis of Billerica along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was born on August 27, 1926 in Cambridge and grew up in Lexington the oldest of nine children. He will join his late parents, Raymond E. MacInnis and Alice (Hewitt) MacInnis, along with his late brother Charlie MacInnis, his late sisters Mary MacInnis and Florence MacInnis, his late sister-in-law Carol (Hatfield) MacInnis and his late daughter-in-law Lea (Wilson) MacInnis.
After completing his time with the United States Coast Guard during World War II, he met his wife Shirley and they moved to Sudbury. In 1958, the growing family moved to Framingham where he and Shirley continued to reside. He had a long and distinguished career within the local area as an experimental machinist before retiring. Raymond was a member of the Knights of Columbus and Eagles Club of Framingham. He served as a Post Commander and held various leadership positions on the Board of Directors of the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW), Post 6260 of Wayland.
Visitations will be on Thursday, August 8, 2013 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm followed by his funeral services at 6:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road (Off Rte 30), Wayland.
Interment for the family will be private at the family lot in Lincoln Town Cemetery in Lincoln.
