STEELE, Mary L. (Kelley) Steele, 92, died on Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at her family’s home in Dennisport, where she resided for the past six years. Mary was a former longtime resident of Medford. She was the wife of the late John P. Steele, Sr. who died in 2010.
Born in Boston on May 14, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Roger and Mary (Ahern) Kelley. Mary was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her four children, Roger Steele and his wife, Marie of Dennisport, Paul Steele and his wife, Jeanne of Yarmouth Port , Donna Steele of Dennisport and Allan Steele of Medford; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; one sister, Irene Steele of North Chelmsford and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her two sons, John P. Steele, Jr., and Edward Steele.
A funeral Mass was celebrated on Saturday, August 3, 2013 in St. Raphael’s Church, 512 High Street, Medford at 10:00 AM. Visiting hours were held on Friday, August 2, 2013, in the Beals-Geake Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, from 5 – 8 PM. Many relatives and friends of Mrs. Steele and her family were in attendance. Interment was held in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford.
