Sally Metcalfe, 79, died unexpectedly at her Law Street home on July 27, 2013. She was a woman who loved her daughter, her friends, her cats, her winters in New York City and her summers in Provincetown.
Sally was born on July 23rd in New York City, where she worked a variety of jobs, eventually retiring as a financial officer for Worth Publishing Company. She was a summer resident and homeowner in Provincetown for over 50 years. She was an avid reader, loved the beach and hosted many festive gatherings. She was famous for a variety of culinary specialties. She was a big fan of tennis and the Yankees. She loved music and was a maternal substitute to many.
Sally had a larger than life personality. Those who knew and loved her can find comfort in knowing that a spirit as outspoken and hilarious as Sally's cannot be extinguished by this event.
She was predeceased by her elder daughter, Leslie. She is survived by her daughter Alyssa, Mark Heilala, her brother Jack Lea and his wife Doris, her nephews Robert and David and their families. She is also survived by the father of her children, Leonard Metcalfe, countless loyal and devoted friends, all of whom will love and miss her eternally.
