SPURR, Margaret (Smith). Passed away on July 30, 2013 at 97 years old. Margaret was born in Somerville on July 12, 1916 and was a lifelong resident of Medford. Wife of the late Charles F. Spurr, Sr. Margaret was a kind and caring woman who spent many years as a foster mother.
Margaret is survived by her three sons, Charles F. Spurr, Jr. and his wife Janet, Allen R. Spurr and his wife Leslie, and Richard W. Spurr and his wife Anne; her two foster daughters, Donna Wood and her husband Corey, and Sandra Sibbitts and her husband Thomas; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother, Kenneth Smith. Also many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Margaret was held on Friday, August 2, 2013, at 10:00 AM in the Beals-Geake Magliozzi Funeral Home, 29 Governors Avenue, Medford. Visiting hours were held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 PM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance. Interment was held in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
