Celia DeFreitas of Medford died peacefully on Monday, July 29 at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. Born and raised in Everett, she was the daughter of the late William and Carmella Gianci. Celia was devoted to her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She was the beloved wife of the late Albert DeFreitas and devoted mother of Daniel DeFreitas and his wife Judith of Chelmsford, Diane MacInnes of Medford and her late husband John, Alan DeFreitas and his wife Rosanne of Reading. She was the loving grandmother of Tracy Kennedy, John MacInnes, Jennifer Assetta, Matthew and Allison DeFreitas, and Erica Lennon, and adoring great grandmother of Courtney, Kaitlyn, Ryan, Anthony, Jacob, and Emily. She was the sister of the late Mildred, Anthony, Emilio, Nino, Albert and Sandra.
A funeral will be held from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD on Friday, August 2 at 8:00AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 9:00AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours will be Thursday form 4:00PM through 8:00PM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery located at 230 Playstead Road in Medford.
