Robert T. McGunigle, a 10 year resident of Wakefield and formerly of Melrose and East Boston, entered into eternal life on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington after an extended illness. He was 45 years old.
Robert was born in Malden on October 4, 1967, a son of John McGunigle and Madeline (Abbott) McGunigle. Robert grew up in East Boston where he was educated in the Boston Public School system and graduated from Dom Savio High School in East Boston in 1986. He recieved his Bachelor of Science Degree in Education from Salem State University. Robert was a teacher for several school systems in the area. He enjoyed fishing and caring for animals.
Robert is the beloved son of John McGunigle and the late Madeline (Abbott) McGunigle. He is the devoted brother of John E. McGunigle of East Boston, Paul W. McGunigle and his wife Mary of Wakefield and the late Daniel M. McGunigle. He is the loving uncle to John, Justin, Paul and Brian. He is the dear friend of Maryellen Munroe of Lynn.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Robert's Funeral on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Melrose/Wakefield line followed by his Funeral Mass in the Most Blessed Sacrament Church, 1155 Main St. Wakefield at 10 A.M. Interment is private. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 from 4 to 8 P.M. in the funeral home.
