Martha (Marty) Mahala Strange, 74 of Ocilla died Saturday, July 27, 2013, at the Heritage Care of Ocilla.
Graveside services will be held 2 PM, Wednesday July 31, 2013, at the Brushy Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Jay Roberson officiating.
Ms. Strange was born September 3, 1938 to the late George Joseph and Sarah Mahala Purvis Strange. She was a graduate of Ocilla High School and worked as a telephone operator for many years in Milledgeville, Ga. Ms. Strange returned home to Ocilla where she spent most of her adult life. She enjoyed cooking, all types of arts and crafts and she was a member of the Ocilla United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother and sister in law, Virgil and Elizabeth (Lou) Strange of Atlantic Beach Fl, two nieces, Cynthia Hagist of Atlantic Beach, Fl and Kristina Schurer of Jacksonville Beach, Fl. Along with a great nephew, Daniel Cobb and two great nieces: Kaylee Schurer and Kelsey Schurer all of Jacksonville Beach.
