Joan B. (McGregor) Cavanaugh age 84 of Salem, NH, died Saturday at Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH.
She was born in Lawrence, MA, where she grew up and attended schools. She was a resident of Salem for 50 years.
Joan owned and operated Kelly’s Kindergarten in Salem, NH for over 25 years. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Church in Salem and a member of the Red Hat Society. She played 45’s weekly for over 40 years with her girlfriends, alternating houses. She was an avid reader, loved the beach, but most of all she loved being with children, especially her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis Cavanaugh and her siblings John McGregor and Rae Sirois.
She is survived by her Daughter: Sharon and her husband Ron Savage of Salem, NH
Son: Mark and his wife Kimberley Cavanaugh of Londonderry, NH
Sisters: Gertrude and her husband William Walsh of Salem, NH
Janet McGregor of Methuen, MA
Grandchildren: Jessica, Erin, Leah, Heather, Brennan, Brian, and Rebecca
Great Grandchildren: Kylie and Tyler
A funeral Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, July 31st at 10:30 AM at Mary Queen of Peace Church, Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem. Calling hours will be Tuesday, July 30th from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
