Obituary

Louise M. (Tolentino) Lovette, 82, of South Dartmouth died Monday,March 11, 2002 at St. Lukes Hospital after a brief illness. Louise was the devoted wife of 59 years to William G. Lovette II, a career service man and World War II Veteran. They spent many years traveling the world with their two children and lived for several years in Germany where their children attended secondary school. She was a loving, dedicated mother and homemaker.

Louise was a member of the Cape Verdean American Retirees Group.

Born in NewBedford, Louise was the daughter of the late Maria (DeCarmo) Tolentino and Francisco Nicolau Tolentino.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her husband; a daughter, Sylvia Almeida and her husband Victor of New Bedford; son, William G. Lovette III of Richmond,CA; three granddaughters, Michelle L. Almeida of Greenfield, MA, Jennifer A. Tavares of New Bedford, Deana J. Tavares of South Dartmouth; one great-grandson, Devin M. Tavares of New Bedford; two sisters, Corinne A. (Tolentino) Monteiro of South Dartmouth, and Alice M. Tolentino of Fairhaven; a sister-in-law, Ida L.Tolentino of New Bedford, three godchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her only grandson, Michael J. Almeida, a sister, Mary L. (Tolentino) Britto, and a brother, Arthur F. Tolentino, Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 15th at 10 AM in the Evangelical Pentecostal Church on 129 Hathaway Boulevard, New Bedford. Louise's nephew, Rev. Francisco A. Tolentino will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Thursday, March 14th from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
