Carol A. "Dolly" (Abrano) Maffeo, a 13 year resident of Saugus and former 25 year resident of Arlington, entered into eternal life on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at her home in Saugus following a brief illness. She was 70 years old.
Dolly was born in Cambridge on January 28, 1943, a daughter of the late Martin Abrano and Rita (Devine) Abrano. She grew up in Belmont where she was educated in the elementary schools and she graduated from Cambridge High & Latin. Dolly was involved with her late husband Rudy in the family baking business and owned several bake shops and donut shops in the area for several years. Dolly was a homemaker and enjoyed the quality time she spent with her family and she was most proud and loved taking care of her 4 granddaughters.
Dolly is the beloved wife of the late Rudolph D. "Rudy" Maffeo. She is the devoted mother of Michael D. Maffeo of Saugus, Steven P. Maffeo and his wife Marcie of Reading, Diane M. Mangarelli and her husband Matthew of Wakefield and David M. Maffeo and his wife Melissa of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is the loving Nana to Valerie Maffeo, Stephanie Maffeo, Melissa Maffeo and Lauren Mangarelli. She is the beloved sister of Frank Abrano of Boston, Elaine Mayo of Arlington, Mary Michitson of Medford and James Abrano of Belmont. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Carol's Funeral on Monday, July 29, 2013 at 9 A.M. from The Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main St. Wakefield/Melrose line followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Joseph's Church, 173 Albion St. Wakefield at 10 A.M. Interment at Forest Glade Cemetery in Wakefield. Visiting hours will be on Sunday, July 28, 2013 from 2 to 6 P.M. in the funeral home.
