Obituary

RICHARD B. MELLISH, 72, a Hull resident for over 30 years, formerly of Hingham, passed away on Wednesday, July 24th, 2013 at the VA Medical Center in Brockton. He served with the U. S. Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1959 to 1963. Mr. Mellish was a member of Quincy Local # 133, was a former member of Old Colony Masonic Lodge of Hingham and also the Hingham Police Department. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and sports, especially the New England Patriots.

He was the father of Mark Mellish and his wife Hilary of Hingham and Richard Mellish and his partner Emanuel Milazzo of Plymouth. Brother of Gretchen Savage of Florida and the late Jacqueline Miers. Also surviving are his grandchildren; Jayce and Reilly.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday, July 29th from 5-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory would be appreciated to The Jimmy Fund, c/o Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 10 Brookline Place West, 6th Floor, Brookline, MA 02445.

The interment at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne with military honors will be on Friday, Aug. 2nd at 10:30 AM.
