Sophia C. "Golec" McKenney, age 94, of Lynn, died July 24 at a local Nursing Home after a brief illness. Born in Bellows Falls, VT, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mattie "Pietras" Golec and the wife of the late Donald F. McKenney. She lived in Lynn since 1937. She was a former communicate of St. Michael's. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by one son John S. McKenney of Lynn, one daughter, Donna L. Barber of Lynn, one brother Ralph Golec of NH, 17 grandchildren John, Donald, Tammy, Richard, Michael and Joseph McKenney, John, Anthony, Jodi and Andrea Wilson, Thomas, Joseph, Shannon, and Stephen O'Shea, Tracy, William Barber and Don Galanty, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mother of the late Mary A. Wilson and Frances A. O'Shea and sister of the late Joseph, Peter, Bernard and Frankie, Lillian Golec and Agnes Zielinski. Also several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends invited to attend Funeral services at Nadworny Funeral Home, 798 Western Ave in Lynn, on Tuesday at 10:30. Internment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 7pm.
