Nancy A. (Nicholson) Cicchetti, age 70, of Mansfield, passed away in the presence of her loving family, on Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of Anthony F. Cicchetti, Sr. to whom she was wed on May 30, 1964.
Born in Boston, MA on July 3, 1943, she was a loving daughter of Grace (DeFlurin) Nicholson of Wakefield and the late George Nicholson. She grew up in the Hyde Park section of Boston and was a graduate of St. Gregory’s High School.
In addition to being a dedicated homemaker to her adoring family, Mrs. Cicchetti had also worked for several years bartending at the former Harry O’s Sports Pub and the former Legends Restaurant & Pub, both in Norton.
A resident of Mansfield for the past 39 years, Nancy was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Mansfield. Her favorite times spent were those surrounded by her children, grandchildren and great grandson. She loved cooking and especially playing golf, of which she and her husband were 30 year members of the Norton Country Club.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by her devoted children, Anthony F. Cicchetti, Jr and his wife Lynn of North Providence, Jimmy M. Cicchetti of Mansfield, Marianne Cicchetti of North Attleboro and the late John D. Cicchetti, Sr. who passed away on August 10, 2009. She was the dear sister of Paul Nicholson of North Andover, Richard Nicholson of Hudson, Roger Nicholson of Virginia, Bobby Nicholson of Billerica, Anne Noyes of Wakefield and the late John Nicholson. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, John, Jr., Sarah, Justin, Joseph, Colin, Nicholas, Rachel and Tara, her great grandson Dierks, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Monday, July 29th at 10:30 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Mansfield.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, July 28th from 4:00-7:00 P.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.
