Anne-Marie (Cahill) Casey, 83, of Winchester, passed away at her home in Winchester on Wed., July 24, 2013, lovingly surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife for 53 years of the late William Coleman Casey, until his passing in 2006. Born in Boston, Anne-Marie was the daughter of the late George F. and Mary Josephine (Murphy) Cahill. She was a graduate of Regis College with the class of 1951 and became a 4th-grade teacher at the Hill School in Waltham. She also assisted with learning disabled children in a special needs program in Boston. Mrs. Casey was a painter and an antiques maven who for many years owned her own shop in Winchester. She was also a docent who gave tours at the State House. A life-long learner, she loved art, music, politics and a meal with good conversation. Her generosity extended far beyond her family and friends. She inspired those she loved with what she loved . . . and how she loved.
Mrs. Casey was the loving mother of Marie Christine Casey and her husband Bruce Brodie of Wilton, CT, William C. Casey III of Winthrop, George C. Casey and his wife Mary of Winchester, Paul C. Casey and his wife Sonja of Winchester, Anne-Louise Parlin and her husband Andrew of New York City, Timothy C. Casey and his wife Erica of Charlestown, Rosemary Toumbas and her husband Vasili of Belmont, Bonnie-Jeanne Casey and her wife Maggie O’Grady of Arlington and the late Joseph C. Casey. She was also the dear sister of George F. Cahill of Concord and the late Charles A. Cahill and is further survived by 21 grandchildren and 34 nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 27 at 10 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, 155 Washington St., Winchester. Relatives and friends respectfully invited to attend. Interment Holyhood Cemetery, Brookline. Visiting hours will be held at St. Mary’s Church on Friday from 3-8PM.
