Irene C. Mello, age 96, of Fall River, passed away July 22, 2013 at Southpointe Nursing Home. She was the loving wife of the late James C. Mello, daughter of the late Stephen and Mary (Lopes) Cabral. Prior to retirement she worked as a machine operator at Samesta Dress Co. She was a member of the Royal Travelers and ILGWU, she also loved to crochet, crossword puzzles and playing many games and activities at the nursing home.
Irene was the loving mother of Stephen J. Mello (wife Joyce) of Swansea, Dennis J. Mello (wife Joyce) of Somerset, Gerald F. Mello (wife Cindy) of Swansea, Kathleen M. Raudonaitis (husband Raymond) of Dartmouth and Cynthia I. Pacheco (husband John) of Fall River; sister of Elizabeth Fernandez of Fall River and the late Edward Cabral, Virginia Rebello and Louise Rogers. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on FRIDAY here at 8 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Holy Trinity Church at 9 A.M.
