NEW BEDFORD -- Elizabeth H. "Betty" Dunn, 91, of South Dartmouth died Friday, Aug. 27, 2004, at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of John S. Dunn.
Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Frederick W. and Ruth C. (Davoll) Harrop, she spent her early childhood in New Bedford and resided in South Dartmouth since she was 10.
A longtime member of the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth, Mrs. Dunn was active in church organizations and was deaconess for several years.
She loved to garden, organize receptions and bake cookies. She was devoted to her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Ruth E. Souza of Charlotte, N.C., and Louise R. Hammann of Amherst; four grandchildren, Martha Hammann, Elizabeth Romano, John M. Souza and Paul V. Souza Jr.; four great-grandchildren, Jesse Romano, Julia Romano, Noah M. Souza and Evan S. Souza; and a niece, Ruby Ormonde.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday September 3, 2004 in the Congregational Church of South Dartmouth.
Burial is private.
