Tiverton – Shirley F. (Lawrence) Taber, 68, of Tiverton, died peacefully at home on July 19, 2013, with her family by her side. She was the wife of Alexander F. “Sandy” Taber, Jr. Born in New Bedford she was daughter of the late Walter and Ariel (Savaria) Lawrence.
Mrs. Taber was a rural letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Middletown, RI for 27 years and attended First Baptist Old Stone Church in Tiverton . She enjoyed working on her farm with her husband to whom she was married for 48 years and spending time with her family.
In addition to her husband Sandy, she leaves behind 4 sons: Alexander F. Taber III, Andrew H. Taber, Joshua J. Taber and James D. Taber all of Tiverton; a brother: James Lawrence of MA; 2 sisters: Gail McHugh of FL and Nancy Raposa of TX; 7 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited to attend will be Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. at POTTER FUNERAL HOME, 81 Reed Road, Westport.
Interment in Pleasant View Cemetery, Tiverton. Calling hours will be Monday 5-8 P.M.
