LOWELL - Laurie Lynn Hoey, age 31, an attendee of Day Hab in Lowell, died Monday, Aug.30, at the Kindred Rehabilitation Center in Peabody, from complications of recent surgery. Shewas the special daughter of Elizabeth “Betty” (Gustafson) Hoey of Lowell , with whom she lived,and the late Robert J. Hoey Sr. who died in 2000.
She was born in Lowell, January 2, 1973, and had lived her entire life in Lowell in the care of herfamily. In her earlier years, she attended Lowell school department’s special needs program, andfor the last two years, she attended the Day-Hab Program at the American Training Company inLowell.
She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Lowell.
Besides her mother, she is survived by ten sisters and brothers, Kelly and her husband Val Luis ofLowell, Ronnie DeMaura of Lowell, Barbara Hoey of No. Ft. Myers, FL, Sherry Hallenborg ofPelham, NH, Robert and his wife Michele (Suprenant) Hoey of Lowell, Michael and his wifeTammy (Souza) Hoey of Dracut, James and his wife Kerry (Ryder) Hoey of Lowell, Steven andhis wife Tracy (Angle) Hoey of Lowell, Christopher Hoey of Lowell, Gary and his wife NicoleHoey of CA; her God-parents, Russell and Lynn (Bowden) Gath of Tewksbury; her aunts anduncle, William and Mary (Gilbride) Hoey of Lowell, Anita Daudelin of Lowell, Barbara(McNamara) Hoey of Chelmsford; several cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also a special granddaughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Walsh) Hoey, EricGustafson Sr., and Bernetta (Manahan) McNamara.
Her Funeral Mass was celebrated Thursday, Sept. 2,. in the Immaculate Conception Church, Lowell. Following cremation, committal services will be private.
