KENNETH R. COWEN, a Hull resident for over 50 years, died suddenly on July 13th, 2013 in Washington State while visiting his son at the age of 91. He was born in New York, NY and for 30 years served with the Hull Police Department both as a sergeant and prosecutor. Mr. Cowen also served with the United States Army during World War II from 1942 to 1946 and was a 50 year member of Konohasset Masonic Lodge of Cohasset. He will be remembered by many as Mr. āCā a Hull School bus driver of 14 years and was recognized as National Ryder School Bus Driver of the Year.
He leaves his wife of 67 years, Josephine Cowen; and was the father of Kenneth R. Cowen Jr. and his wife Vonna of Puyallup, WA, Jodi B. Elliott and her husband Scott of Newtown, CT and the late Candace Cowen. Grandfather of Devon Snider, Chelsea Cowen, Scott Elliott, Samuel Elliott and Joseph Elliott.
A Graveside Service with military honors will be conducted on Monday, July 29th at 10:30 AM at the Hull Village Cemetery, Nantasket Ave., Hull. Relatives and friends are invited to attend memorial visiting hours at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Sunday, July 28th from 4-8 PM.
