Worcester - Kenneth B. Knowlton, 88, passed away with family by his side on Monday, July 15, 2013, at the Christopher House of Worcester. His wife of 54 years, Shirley E. (Robinson) Knowlton, died in 2002. He leaves a daughter, Suzanne E. Kerbs, and a son, Brian A. Knowlton - both of Worcester. He also leaves a brother, Elwyn Knowlton and his wife Mary of Millbury; a grandson, Brooks P. Thornhill of New Castle, NH; a granddaughter, Ada Chen in Beijing, China; many friends - including a lifelong friend, Roy Peasley of Rockland, Maine - and many nieces and nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Stuart Knowlton, two nephews, and a grandniece.
Kenneth was born in Worcester, a son of Mary E. (Blair) and Cecil N. Knowlton. He was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He worked for Astra Pharmaceutical Company in Worcester and Westborough for 41 years and retired in 1995 as a maintenance mechanic. Kenneth was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the W. Elmer Ekblaw Chapter of the MA Archaeological Society for many years. He was a history buff and also loved genealogy, art, nature, traveling and reading - especially his bible. Above all, he loved his family.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, July 21, 2013, at Zion Lutheran Church, 41 Whitmarsh Avenue, Worcester. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Worcester Animal Rescue League, 139 Holden Street, Worcester, MA 01606.
