Florida-----Arthur Joseph “Joe” Marquis, Jr., 85, of 2 Navel Drive, Winter Haven, Florida 33884 and a former long time resident of Derry, NH passed away Saturday, June 29, 2013 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center due to Respiratory Failure.
Joe was born September 6, 1927 in Derry, New Hampshire the son of the late Arthur Joseph Marquis, Sr. and Alice (Lacasse) Marquis. He was a World War II Army Veteran and was awarded the World War II Victory and Army of Occupation metals, having served in the European Theater. He was a resident of Winter Haven, Florida for several years and a Member of Beymer United Methodist Church in Winter Haven.
Joe retired from Digital Communications as a Security Guard.
Survivors include his wife, Anita Louise (Bennett) Marquis, of Winter Haven; three sisters, Lorraine Routhier, of Derry, NH, Claire Lewis, of Gilford, NH and Joann Ross, of Epping NH and other extended family.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be private.
Burial will be in the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen, NH .
