Obituary

Raymond P. “Ray” Petto, 83 of Medford, died Monday after a long illness in Medford, MA.

Born in Stoneham, he lived in Medford for the past 57 years and was the son of the late Emma (DeMeo) and Ralph Petto. Raymond was a 50 year member of Local 4 as a Hoisting Engineer and retired in 1992. He served during the Korean War in the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal from 1951 to 1955.

Beloved husband of Frances (Spinale) Petto. Devoted father of James Petto and his wife Helen of Nebraska, Maryanne Rivers and her husband William of Reading, Lorraine Herook and her husband David of Bradford. Also survived by 7 loving grandchildren and 1 loving great grandchild. Brother of Mary Campilio of North Reading, and the late George, Angelo, Ernest, Ralph and Victor Petto.

Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Friday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 9 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4-8.

Interment will be private.

As an expression of sympathy memorial contributions may be sent in Raymond’s name to a Charity of One’s Choice. .
