Worcester – Helga (Soltau) Sobon, 87, of Leicester, died on Saturday, July 13th in the Christopher House after an illness.
Mrs. Sobon was married to Alfons Sobon who died in 2000. A cousin, Helmut Schneider of Germany, survives her. She worked as an assembler for Sprague Electric in Worcester for 15 years and previously worked at Ledermans Bakery for 10 years.
Helga was born in Heiderfeld, Germany daughter of the late, Rudolf and Johanna (Schimming) Soltau and moved to the United States in 1951.
Mrs. Sobon’s caretakers would like to extend a word of thanks to the staff of the Christopher House for the exceptional care and support that was given to Helga during her time there.
A committal service will be held on Saturday, July 20th at 10:30 in the Notre Dame Mausoleum 162 Webster Street. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
